Tandem Skydiving Dry Season April To October Bali

After weeks of dreaming, I finally booked my tandem skydiving experience in Bali! The dry season, running from April to October, is definitely the time to go. I went in October, and the visibility was absolutely incredible, with calm winds that made for a perfect jump. We were told morning jumps are best for weather and views, and they weren’t wrong. Waking up early was worth it for those pristine views of the northern coastline.

The skydiving operation is located in Buleleng, North Bali. It’s a bit of a trek, about 2.5 to 3 hours from Seminyak/Canggu, and around 1.5 hours if you’re coming from Ubud. I stayed in Ubud, so the drive wasn’t too bad, and the scenery along the way was beautiful. Be prepared for an early start if you’re aiming for a morning jump!

What to Expect: The Jump and Beyond

The package I chose started at USD 1,200, which included everything: a certified instructor (essential for tandem!), a thorough safety briefing, and a professional photo and video package of the whole experience. Trust me, you’ll want those memories! They provide all the necessary helm gear, so you don’t need to worry about that.

Before you even think about jumping, there are a few important things to know. There’s a maximum weight limit of 100 kg (220 lbs) for safety, and they also consider height and body composition if you’re close to that limit. Make sure to wear closed-toe shoes – no sandals or flip-flops! They also advise against loose clothing and jewelry during the jump. The actual freefall is an exhilarating 60 seconds, which feels both incredibly long and incredibly fast. After that, you get a beautiful 4 to 5 minute parachute descent, giving you time to really soak in the panoramic views.
