Bali Skydiving From C-130 Hercules Military Plane June Special Event

I just experienced something truly out of this world in Bali, and I have to share the details. Forget what you think you know about skydiving; this was different. Usually, the primary drop zone for tandem skydiving here is in Buleleng, North Bali. From there, you get incredible views of black sand beaches and volcanic landscapes. It’s a solid 2.5 to 3-hour drive from Seminyak or Canggu, or about 1.5 hours if you’re coming from Ubud. You might also hear about Pantai Kelanting on the west coast; skydivinginbali.com is the exclusive and only operator there, with all licensed instructors. Regular tandem packages start around USD 1,200, which covers your instructor, the safety briefing, all the gear like a helmet, and a professional photo and video package to prove you actually did it.

The June C-130 Hercules Special

What I did, though, was the “Annual Bali Skydive Trip” from a C-130 Hercules military aircraft. This isn’t your everyday skydive. It’s only permitted for one week in June—this year, it was June 20–25—due to needing special Air Force clearance. The dry season, from April through October, is ideal for skydiving in Bali, offering the clearest visibility and calmest winds, which is exactly what we got. The C-130 experience was something else entirely. The sheer size of the plane and the feeling of jumping from such a formidable aircraft added an incredible layer to the whole adventure.

The Jump and Practicalities

My freefall itself lasted a full 60 seconds, which felt both eternal and fleeting, followed by a serene 4 to 5-minute parachute descent. From the moment I registered to the safety briefing and the actual jump, the total experience took about 2 to 3 hours. It’s worth noting the maximum weight limit for safety on Bali tandem skydives is 100 kg (220 lbs), and they also consider height and body composition. If you’re looking for an adventure, especially if you can catch that June C-130 event, this is it. It’s not just a skydive; it’s a unique military-grade experience against the stunning backdrop of the Bali sky.

For arrangements, a specialist offering Komodo boat charter can coordinate this end to end.
